    A short addendum is added to your agreement, and the amount is added to your monthly rent.

Terms and conditions apply. Protection begins once your Tenant Protection Plan addendum is signed and the additional monthly amount is paid, and continues as long as your account is current. These amounts are Additional Monthly Rent under your rental agreement, not a premium, and may change on 30 days' notice. The Protection Plan is not insurance.

What to Do First

  • Take photos before you move anything. We can help!
  • Call the police and get a report number if there's a break-in.
  • Keep your lock, even if it's cut or broken.
  • Don't throw anything away until your reimbursement request is resolved.
  • Move undamaged belongings somewhere safe and dry.
  • Submit your request in the reimbursements portal within 45 days of noticing the loss or damage.

What's Not Protected

Property not protected

  • Anything stored outside a locked unit
  • Cash, jewelry, art, and collectibles
  • Papers, records, and stored data
  • Anything your rental agreement doesn't allow

Losses not protected

  • Flood and groundwater
  • Mold, mildew, and rot
  • Damage from heat or humidity
  • Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions
  • War and government seizure
  • Ordinary wear and tear

Situations not protected

  • Theft with no signs of forced entry
  • Items that go missing with no explanation
  • Damage that happens while you're loading or unloading
  • Injury to another person

Pest and vermin damage is protected against, up to $500.

Please Read Before You Sign

  1. The Keepwell Protection Plan is not insurance.
  2. Keepwell is neither an insurance agency nor an insurance company.
  3. No insurance is or will be purchased for you under the Protection Plan.
  4. The amount you pay is Additional Monthly Rent under your rental agreement, not a premium, and there is no deductible.

The Protection Plan does not protect against bodily injury or liability to any other person. Protection is limited to the property, causes of loss, and limits described in your Tenant Protection Plan addendum, which contains the full terms and controls in the event of any difference between this page and the addendum. The Protection Plan is offered at participating Keepwell locations.
